Shane A Knight Obituary (1960 - 2012)

Shane A Knight, 51, of E. Madison passed away on Sunday February 19, 2012 at his home in E. Madison, Maine, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born December 29, 1960 in Skowhegan, Maine, the son of Arthur W. Scott and Donna L. (Moore) Knight. Shane graduated from Madison High School in the class of 1980. He married the former Kelly Demmons on July 23, 2011 in Norridgewock, Maine. Shane worked at the Chinet Company in Fairfield for twenty years. Then he worked at Backyard Farms in Madison for three years, and then worked for Castine Construction Company in Fairfield for several years. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed canoeing, kayaking, camping, snowmobiling, four wheeling, snow shoeing, and anything to do with the outdoors, always wanting to be around a bon fire. He is survived by his wife Kelly who is the light in his eyes of E. Madison, one daughter Tia Withee who he cherished with all his heart and her husband the son he never had Chris of E. Madison, his parents; Arthur Scott and Donna Knight of E. Madison, two sisters; Judy Pontiff and her husband Paul of Queensbury, NY, Darla Low and her husband David of Earlysville, VA, Don Knight and his wife Bernice of Woolwich, ME, one grandchild Brodi “Little Tater”, four step-children, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Shane also leaves “adopted brother” Danny Berry and his family, special friends Russ, Randy, Adam, and Skipper and his dog Budman. He was predeceased by his grandparents Herbert and Natalie Moore, Frank and Irene Scott, past dogs; Dutchman, Nikki and Digger. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
