Harold A Lovejoy Sr. Obituary (1924 - 2018)

Harold A. Lovejoy Sr., 93, of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully Saturday January 20, 2018 in Pittsfield, Maine. He was born September 28, 1924, in Addison, Maine, the son of Charles and Mattie (Gray) Lovejoy. He joined the United States Army in 1943 serving during WWII. Harold married the former Rosalie M. Guptill in December of 1946 spending 67 years together before her passing in 2014. Harold spent many years working for the Irving Tannery Company in Hartland, Maine until his retirement. He enjoyed watching and feeding the birds and other animals in his yard, gardening, watching soap operas, telling stories and loved to play with his beloved grand-dog “Chancey”. Harold was a devoted family man always keeping up to date with what everyone was doing. He is survived by his son Harold Lovejoy Jr and his wife Darlene of Pittsfield, his five grandchildren; Roni Twitchell and her partner Warren LaPrell of Pittsfield, Kim Kirouac and her husband Jason of Florida, Troy Twitchell and his wife Missy of Hartland, Amy Twitchell and her partner Mike Richardson of Windsor, Kevin McCormick and his wife Joanna of St. Albans; his great grandchildren, Trevor Twitchell, Morgan Havey, Danielle Brunni, Christina May, Ryan-Michael Havey, Nash Kirouc, and Ellura Twitchell; and his great-great-grandchildren, Kylie Twitchell, Trey Lewis, Davina Twitchell, and Tyler Twitchell. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife Rosalie; his daughter Beatrice and son-in-law James Twitchell, and his granddaughter Keri Lovejoy. A graveside will be held in the spring at the Pittsfield Village Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
